"The Future of Japan's AI Strategy" - Japan's Strategic Positioning in Global AI Competition
Following up on last year's discussion at IVS2024, this session will review Japan's progress in AI strategy over the past year and examine current challenges and future directions. While there have been policy developments such as the enactment of the AI Promotion Act, many challenges remain in the social implementation of AI.
In this session, we welcome Minister Taira, who oversees policy, and Professor Matsuo, a leading figure in AI research, to examine Japan's AI strategy from multiple perspectives. We will explore Japan's strategic positioning in global competition, challenges in AI social implementation, and human resource strategies for enhancing competitiveness, approaching these topics from both policy and technical standpoints to provide practical insights for participants.
