      The much-anticipated "Second Phase Startup Ecosystem Hub Cities" finally launches, aimed at creating and growing deep tech startups in regional areas!
      This session will introduce the "Second Phase Startup Ecosystem Hub Formation Acceleration Plan" announced by the Cabinet Office in June, plus key persons from newly selected NEXT global hub cities will take the stage to passionately discuss each city's appeal, strengths, and future strategies! Experience firsthand the forefront of challenges to create deep tech startups that can compete globally from regional areas.

          After earning a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Graduate School of Niigata University, I joined the Niigata Prefectural Government, where I served for 20 years. Of those, 10 years were dedicated to industrial and labor policy, with a particular focus on supporting startups and promoting collaboration among industry, academia, and government. I led key initiatives such as J-Startup NIIGATA and the establishment of eight startup hubs across Niigata Prefecture.
          Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor at Kanazawa University and am engaged in fostering startup creation through Tech Startup HOKURIKU (TeSH), a regional initiative involving 13 universities and 3 technical colleges in the Hokuriku region.

              Joined Kumamoto City in 1999. Worked in finance and taxation, revitalization of downtown and local shopping districts, and community development in Nishi Ward through numerous public-private projects. In 2020, became the first director of the city’s Startup and New Industry Support Office, later the first manager of the expanded Startup and New Industry Support Division. Actively supports startups and entrepreneurship. Also known as a “sauna public servant,” promoting business attraction using sauna culture.

                  After graduating from university, I joined the Ehime Prefectural Government. Since then, I have been involved in work related to the economy, public relations, and digital initiatives. In 2019 (Reiwa 1), I was seconded to a major advertising agency. Currently, in the Industrial Creation Division, I am responsible for performance-based acceleration programs and facilitating open innovation and startup matchmaking within the prefecture.

                  Ehime Prefecture has been selected as a "Global Hub City" under a Cabinet Office certification program. Looking ahead, we aim to establish the "Setouchi Startup Consortium" within three years, and I am committed to engaging surrounding regions in this initiative.

                                      Jeevan Gnanam は、祖父である故 A. Y. S. Gnanam 氏（St. Anthony’s Group〈SAグループ〉の創業者）と同様に、起業家精神あふれるアイデアの創出者となることを目指しています。SAグループはスリランカで最も歴史があり、最大規模の複合企業のひとつであり、繊維、建築資材、プラスチック製品、工業用ファスナー、セメント、ファイバーセメント、波形屋根材の製造を通じて産業の発展を切り開いてきました。

                                      Jeevan 氏は、スリランカ初の本格的なITパーク「Orion City（オリオンシティ）」の立役者でもあり、ここには世界を代表するIT企業が拠点を構えています。2008年の設立以来、オリオンシティは着実な成長を遂げ、2020年までに100万平方フィートの施設目標を達成しました。

                                      また、スリランカ最大級のプラスチック製造企業の一つである Anton 社のCEOも務めています。革新と品質への強いこだわりにより、Anton 社は国民から信頼されるブランドとして確固たる地位を築いています。60年の歴史の中でスリランカのプラスチック業界において多くの「初」を成し遂げ、現在はサステナブル開発においても業界をリードしています。

                                      2007年には兄と共にウェブアプリ開発会社「Providence（プロビデンス）」を創業し、現在はBPO（ビジネス・プロセス・アウトソーシング）事業へも拡大しています。さらに2012年には「SAKS（SA Knowledge Services）」を設立し、金融サービス、リサーチ＆アナリティクス、リーガルプロセスアウトソーシングなどにおいて柔軟でカスタマイズされたソリューションを提供しています。

                                      Jeevan 氏はスリランカの若者向け起業支援のメンターおよびファシリテーターとしても活動しており、SLASSCOMの積極的なメンバーとして、起業家精神とマーケティングフォーラムが主導する多くの取り組みに関与しています。また、スリランカの起業家や企業にベンチャーキャピタルとメンタリングを提供する「Lanka Angel Network」の創設メンバーでもあります。

                                                  JAXA入社後、ロケットエンジン開発、宇宙船「こうのとり」開発・運用、米国ヒューストン駐在員事務所にてNASA等との国際調整業務を経て、現在は、JAXA宇宙イノベーションパートナーシップ(J-SPARC)プログラムを展開し、JAXAの研究開発力の向上と新たな民間宇宙ビジネスの創出を目指した複数の共創プロジェクトを推進している。加えて、2024年4月から、宇宙戦略基金の技術開発マネージメントに従事。兵庫県姫路市出身。一般社団法人スペースポートジャパン共同創業者＆理事。
